The boat was filled with illegals, heading to Italy, with many likely to go from there to other, more welfare-friendly destinations in the EU. Leftists routinely bemoan the safety of illegals, which is indeed a concern, but they ignore the illegal activity itself.

In 2024, 30,000 illegals arrived in Italy: 61% from Libya and 32% from Tunisia. Libya has a 97% Sunni population, while Tunisia is 98% Sunni. This is what the term “Muslim invasion” of the West refers to. It has been steady and persistent for over a decade, across the EU and the UK. Given Western birthrates, and its leftist leaders, the writing is on the wall for Europe.

Tunisia rescues 64 migrants from capsizing boat off eastern Mediterranean coast

TUNIS, Tunisia (AP) — Authorities in Tunisia say 64 migrants were rescued from a boat that capsized off the country’s eastern Mediterranean coast after running out of fuel.

The country’s national customs agency said in a statement that maritime patrols sent to the capsized vessel rescued 64 people of various nationalities off the coast of Mahdia on Friday evening. No deaths were reported.

“The rescued migrants were trying to illegally cross by boat towards the European space,” the customs agency said.

Initial findings of the investigation suggest that the migrants had set off from an unnamed neighbouring country, likely to be Libya.

The migrants were taken to the port of Chebba, 37 miles (60 kilometers) north of Sfax, for further investigation.

More than 30,000 migrants set sail from Libya and arrived in Italy in 2024, according to UNHCR. The UN refugee agency said 61% of those arriving in Italy by sea came from Libya, followed by 32% from Tunisia….

A family with two young children who collapsed with hypothermia were rescued in the forest overnight Thursday after trying to cross the border into Quebec between the U.S. and Canada.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) said they received a call at 3:15 a.m. from Quebec provincial police alerting them that two adults and a one and two-year-old located around Havelock, Que., needed urgent rescue from the woods after walking for hours overnight and getting lost.

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) had received a 911 call shortly before from the mother.

RCMP spokesperson Martina Pillarova told Global News that emergency services were able to locate the family by keeping them on the 911 call and tracking their coordinates via GPS.

“They stayed on the line while we tracked them. They were in an area with lots of trees, so no vehicle or skidoo could pass through. Officers got to them by 4:15 a.m. by foot by following their footsteps in the snow,” said Pillarova.

Authorities say the family was found under a tree. The parents had lost their shoes in a river, and the infant and toddler were not properly dressed for cold, harsh Canadian winter weather.

The two adults, whose ages the RCMP could not confirm, had collapsed and were holding the two children. They were unable to move and had hypothermia, the RCMP said.

The mother was transported out of the woods by sleigh, both children were carried by officers and the father managed to get on to a side-by-side vehicle that was able to get to them.

Emergency services from nearby towns Hemmingford, Que., and Mooers in upstate New York were waiting for them a kilometre away.

They were transported to hospital in Châteauguay, Que., to be treated for hypothermia and are expected to recover.

Pillarova said the family will likely ask for refugee status and their case will be transferred to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). She could not provide any further detail on their origins.

An elderly man was killed and three others were hospitalized after a vicious dog attack in San Antonio Friday, authorities said.

Emergency crews responded to the “horrific scene” in the Texas city’s West Side around 2 p.m. and found a “completely bloody” 80-year-old man being dragged onto the sidewalk by one of two American Staffordshire terriers involved in the deadly attack, San Antonio Fire Chief Charles Hood told KSAT.

When SAFD firefighters got off the truck they were attacked by the dogs and forced to defend themselves with pickaxes and pike poles while they tried to treat the victim, he said.

“This is not something normal for us. We usually don’t show up and have to defend patients from animals or ourselves,” Hood said.

The elderly man was given blood at the scene but died of his injuries, according to officials.

The horror unfolded after the elderly man and a 74-year-old woman, who had just arrived on the street to visit friends, stepped outside of their vehicle, San Antonio police said.

At that time, the two dogs escaped from the neighbor’s yard and attacked the duo — who were described by police as a couple.

The dogs caused “visible bite injuries to both victims,” police said. A fire captain suffered a bite wound to the leg and a third victim was bitten in the hand. All three surviving victims were taken to University Hospital for treatment.

“Horrific scene, horrific for the people who experienced it and horrific for our firefighters that were part of this,” Hood said.

The two dogs involved in the attack and another dog from the same home were unrestrained at the time and have been taken into the custody of San Antonio Animal Care Services. They will reportedly be euthanized Friday night.

The two Staffordshire terriers, a male and female, were involved in another attack two years ago when they were also impounded with animal services, ACS Director Shannon Sims told KSAT.

Police arrested dog owner Christian Moreno following the attacks.

Sims said the shelter has received numerous calls from concerned neighbors over the last two years claiming the dogs were neglected and seemed to be strays.

The dogs’ owner, Christian Moreno, 31, was arrested and is facing felony charges of attack by dangerous dog causes death and injury to an elderly, police said.

Arif had spotted a badly injured Sarus crane in a field in February last year.

"The bird was bleeding profusely in its right leg and I could see it was in a lot of pain. I picked it up and brought the bird home. I put some medicine on its leg and applied a plaster by fixing a bamboo stick and covering it with bandages. I have an outhouse, basically a shed with a tin roof where the bird was kept," Arif said.

The bird took some time to recover.

"During the day, when I left for my work, the crane would hop around and mingle with other birds. But when I came home in the evening, the crane would come to me, cuddle me and we ate dinner together," Arif said.

By April, the bird had fully recovered but it refused to leave his home.

"Life has not been the same since then. Now, wherever I go, the Sarus, whom everyone calls 'Bachcha', accompanies me to work. The bird takes a stroll when I am working and then we both have lunch together before returning home in the evening," he adds.

He said, "People stare at us and take our photographs. Some even make reels but now I enjoy the stares."

During the winter season other Sarus cranes arrive in the area but Bachcha has not gone back with them.

Strangely, the crane's love for Arif does not extend to his family members.

Arif's wife Mehrunissa said, "Whenever in the absence of my husband, I have gone to feed him, I have been attacked. Neither I nor my two kids dare go near the sarus."

Wildlife experts have a different opinion of the incident and they advise caution.

Sarus cranes are regarded as the least social crane species. They can be very protective when nesting and are aggressive towards intruders.

Lucknow divisional forest officer Ravi Singh said that 'Sarus' is a wild bird under the Wildlife Protection Act.

"We have a system to protect and nurture it, but one should be cautious. You cannot touch its wings or hold it near you. No human touch is allowed," he said.

The Sarus must be allowed to live itself in the wild and it cannot be domesticated and allowed contact with humans. A diet of insects and fish must be given to the bird, he added.

More than 100 people were left stranded after a large ice chunk broke off on a lake in Minnesota on Monday.

The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office said police and other first responders evacuated the group from Upper Red Lake on Monday morning.

Most of them had been fishing when the large ice chunk broke off.

A statement from the sheriff's office, posted during the rescue, said: 'If you are on the ice and need to evacuate, head towards JR's Corner. There is a temporary ice bridge to get across the open water.'

Northwoods Fish Houses LLC, a company which works at the lake, estimated around 200 people were on the ice chunk after it broke off. 

A staff member posted a video to Facebook Live which guessed there was about 60ft of water between the ice chunk and the main ice sheet.

He said that by about 3.20pm, everyone was 'off the lake and all safe'.

November seems a little early to be ice fishing.

Three men rescued from tanker's rudder after 11 days at sea

Nov. 29 (UPI) -- The Spanish Coast guard has rescued three stowaways found sitting on the rudder of a ship after an 11-day journey from Nigeria, Spanish authorities confirmed on Tuesday.

A photo shared on Twitter by Spain's Maritime Safety and Rescue Society shows the three men cramped together on the rudder of the massive oil tanker, less than three feet above the water line.

The Maltese-flagged Alithini II arrived on Monday at the port of Las Palmas in Gran Canaria, one of Spain's Canary Islands after departing from Nigeria.

After they were rescued, the three men were taken to the hospital and treated for dehydration.

Authorities haven't made it clear if the three men were on the rudder for the entire 11-day voyage, which spanned over 2,000 miles.

It's also not clear if the three men will be able to apply for political asylum in Spain.

Despite the danger, the route is a popular one for refugees fleeing war-torn parts of Africa.

Thousands of people attempt to reach the Canary Islands from West Africa each year.

In October 2020, four people stowed away on the rudder of an oil tanker from Lagos, hiding for 10 days before they were discovered as the vessel arrived in Las Palmas.

The U.N.'s International Organization for Migration recorded 1,126 deaths on the route last year, a sharp increase from the year before. The organization says the actual number of deaths is likely much higher.

There are multiple reports of human remains washing ashore along the Atlantic coast of Western Africa or frequently being caught up in the trawl nets of fishing vessels.

When Fact is Worse than Fiction: ‘Feral Child’ Story Untrue for all the Wrong Reasons

A widely-published story regarding an eight-year-old girl who was found in a wildlife sanctuary in northern India and was allegedly raised by a colony of monkeys has now been debunked as untrue, but the truth is even more tragic, it seems.

The child was discovered by police at the side of a road with a colony of monkeys nearby which led rescuers, and the media, to believe that she had been raised by them.

She exhibited violent behavior in reaction to human contact and was unable to speak or communicate effectively, leading healthcare professionals to the conclusion that this was a case of a feral child raised in the wild by animals.

Or so everyone believed when the story first broke.

Police superintendent Dinesh Tripathi spoke to the New Indian Express and speculated that it appeared as though the girl had been living in the wild “since birth.”

However, forestry officer JP Singh came forward in the aftermath of the story’s publication to dispute such claims, speaking with the British media.

“I think the family members of this girl had been aware that she is not able to speak, and they may have abandoned her near the forest road,” he said.

“If she was living with monkeys it would have been for a few days only, not for a long time,” he added.

D.K. Singh, the chief medical officer of the hospital where the girl was treated, also disputed such claims.

“In India, people do not prefer a female child and she is mentally not sound, so all the more [evidence] she was left there,” he said, as cited by The Independent.

The chief medical officer of the district of Bahraich, Ankur Lal, told reporters that he believes the symptoms of the girl’s mental and physical illnesses led her family to abandon her and rescuers to mistakenly believe that she had been raised in the wild.

The girl has been taken to a children’s home in the city of Lucknow for ongoing treatment and long term care.

This child is 8 years old, there must be dozens, if not hundreds of people who know who she is. 

Feral Child Raised by Monkeys Rescued from Indian Jungle

An eight-year-old girl has been found living with monkeys in a jungle in India’s Uttar Pradesh. It is unknown how the girl, who is unable to speak and walks on all fours, came to be living in the wild.

The girl was found in Bahraich by sub-inspector Suresh Yadav who was patrolling the Motipur range of Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary near the Nepalese border two months ago.

The sub-inspector spotted the girl with a group of apes and tried to rescue her with the help of other officers. The girl and the monkeys screeched at them, but officers were eventually able to remove the girl.

“She was terrified of us, she could not speak or hear us properly,” Inspector Ram Avtar Singh said. “She was surrounded by three monkeys. She had wounds on her body specifically on her elbow and one on her leg.”

The girl is unable to speak or understand language. She is afraid of humans and has been violent at times.

Doctors at the Bahraich District Hospital say that she has improved since treatment began, and can walk with her legs but continues to revert to walking using her arms and legs.  

It isn’t clear how long the girl was living in the wild, or how she ended up there.

“The girl was found two months back, eats and walks like animals do, and runs away on seeing humans,” the hospital’s chief medical officer DK Singh said. “She has marks on her skin, it looks like she has lived with animals for quite some time. Now she is better and healthy, showing improvement.”
