How Trudeau is Implementing the UN's Globalist Strategy in Canada

Danielle Smith: UN Migration Pact part of the plan
to extinguish Canadian identity
By Danielle Smith
Radio Host 770 CHQR

In the last few weeks, I’ve had serious conversations with colleagues about whether the federal government is going to allow me to continue using the term “illegal migrants” in reference to the influx of people at Roxboro Road. I’m not kidding.

That’s because the new United Nations Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration — which Canada is expected to sign in Marrakech, Morocco on Dec. 10-11 — has a section about media re-education in how we talk about all migrants, including those who break the rules to come to our country.

Objective 17 of the pact commits the government to “promote independent, objective and quality reporting of media outlets, including internet-based information, including by sensitizing and educating media professionals on migration-related issues and terminology, investing in ethical reporting standards and advertising and stopping allocation of public funding or material support to media outlets that systematically promote intolerance, xenophobia, racism and other forms of discrimination towards migrants, in full respect for the freedom of the media.”

I love the way they throw that last part in — “in full respect for the freedom of the media” — as if the entire paragraph preceding it didn’t just negate the notion of press freedom.

But it took Western University professor Salim Mansur to piece it all together for me. It was coincidental that the day I spoke to Mansur was the day former U.S. president George H.W. Bush was being laid to rest because it was Bush Sr. who first declared the New World Order after the fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of the Cold War. I don’t know what he meant by the term when he first said it, but it is becoming increasingly clear how the bureaucrats at the United Nations see it, along with sycophantic world leaders like Prime Minister Justin Trudeau who crave international validation.

When, just after getting elected, Trudeau declared, “We’re back,” I wasn’t sure what he meant, nor did I know what he was up to when he told the New York Times that Canada was “the first post-national state.” But I never thought it would mean extinguishing the Canadian identity.

Mansur connected the dots. I thought it odd when Trudeau used the term “irregular migrants” when the illegal crossings began. There are experts who say nothing illegal is going on and that it is not illegal for someone to enter Canada for the purpose of making an asylum claim at any point along the Canada-U.S. border. I call them illegal crossings because those who enter our country via Roxboro Road have to walk past a sign that says it is illegal to cross the border. The reason they don’t go to a proper border crossing is because they could be turned away under our Safe Third Country Agreement.

After reading the UN pact, I’m beginning to realize that Trudeau’s ill-considered “Welcome to Canada” tweet to the world was likely deliberate, as well as the language he uses to normalize illegal crossings. The pact seeks to make migration — for any reason — a recognized right. As for the rights of the receiving nation to object to having their borders overrun? Well, now you’re just being racist.

M-103 — the non-binding motion that condemns Islamophobia — has been in the works for years under the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, which have a disproportionate influence at the UN. Last week, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan said there needs to be an international convention to ban speech that is insulting to Muslims. Looks like that is part of the migration pact, too. There’s more.

Bill C-69, the bill that will make it impossible to build pipelines, and Bill C-48, the bill that bans tanker traffic off the northern B.C. coast, are also deliberate. Landlocking Alberta oil and crushing our energy industry flows from the unrealistic commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions committed to in the Paris Accord, which is also referenced in the migration pact.

According to Mansur, the $600-million media bailout is the last piece of the strategy to ensure compliance by financially punishing those outlets that don’t play along with the new speech and thought code.

I suppose one way to look at it is there is no reason to worry when Trudeau signs the pact next week because he’s already implemented the key provisions of it. The other way of looking at it is this: when did we give our prime minister the unilateral authority to sign away our sovereignty?

The Delusion That Motivates Gender Fluidity Madness

Governments and media suffer from a delusion generated by short-sighted and extremely shallow thinking, as well as a dearth of knowledge and wisdom

Tasmania’s lower house passes the nation’s most sweeping transgender rights laws

Tasmania’s lower house last night passed the nation’s most sweeping transgender rights laws, including requiring parents to “opt in” to have their newborn’s sex recorded on a birth certificate.

The changes, put forward by Labor and the Greens and passed with the casting vote of turncoat Liberal Speaker Sue Hickey, also allow people as young as 16 to change their official gender simply by filing a statutory declaration.

As well, the House of Assembly passed a broadening of Tasmania’s anti-discrimination laws to extend hate speech to cover “gender expression”, including correct use of transgender people’s changed honorifics and names.

While the amendments still need to pass the state’s independent-dominated upper house, the parliamentary coup is a major win for transgender rights nationally. It is also a significant blow for the Hodgman Liberal government and its claim to stable government, given Ms Hickey used her casting vote against her party on all key amendments.

Veteran LGBTI campaigner Rodney Croome last night hailed the outcome, which will embolden activists seeking similar changes across the country.

“It’s appropriate that, on the first anniversary of the postal survey, the principle of equality that Tasmanians voted for so emphatically is being put into practice for our transgender and gender-diverse fellow citizens,” Mr Croome said.

Transforming Tasmania spokesperson Roen Meijers said the changes provided “greater equity, dignity and hope for transgender, gender-diverse and intersex Tasmanians”.

“We will now turn our attention to the upper house which we will brief on Thursday,” Mr Meijers said.

A broad range of interests, from radical feminists to conservative Christians, attacked the reforms as effectively abolishing gender and threatening the safety of female-only services, from domestic violence shelters to the Girl Guides.

Ms Hickey sided with the opposition parties despite Liberal Attorney-General Elise Archer warning that the amendments — to a government bill removing the need for people to divorce in order to change gender — were confusing, untested, poorly drafted and liable to lead to unintended consequences.

“The government prefers to refer this to the Tasmanian Law Reform Institute … because there are significant drafting flaws and legal consequences — things that need to be considered,” Ms Archer told parliament.

Labor legal affairs spokeswoman Ella Haddad said changes requiring parents to apply to the Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages if they wanted their child’s sex recorded on a birth certificate were not radical.

Ms Haddad said a form would simply ask parents of newborns “Do you wish to have gender printed on the birth certificate”. “It creates an opt-in approach,” Ms Haddad said.

Ms Archer and the government refused to back any of the amendments.

Canada cracks down on parental rights, flagrantly violating the Universal Declaration of Human Rights

Canada, Kathleen Wynne, Parental Rights, Sex Education, Transgenderism

November 6, 2018 (Everyday For Life Canada) – There is plenty of evidence that parents in Canada no longer have the right to direct their children's education and their lives. In this post, we bring to the attention of parents some disturbing examples of parental rights violated and overruled.

Example 1: The first is the case of the Christian father from Hamilton who fought for his parental rights for nearly eight years. He was legally attacked by the school board, the province of Ontario and the elementary teachers' union. The only thing that this parent wanted was to protect his children from the LGTBQ beliefs implemented by the Wynne Liberal government. The policy is known as the Equity and Inclusive Education Strategy. It later become part of the controversial 2015 Health and Physical and Education curriculum for all public schools, including the Catholic schools.

Last year, the Ontario Superior Court ruled against Dr. Steve Tourloukis. The court reasoned that there was lack of evidence; in other words, he needed to prove that his children were actually harmed. The decision is a blow to parental rights in Ontario and the rest of Canada. Why? Because Tourloukis represented every parent who wants to have a say about the kind of education their children receive.

One of the three judges, Peter Lauwers, did state the dangers of violating parental rights. He wrote, "In my view there are limits imposed by the Charter on a province's power to use publicly funded education to inculcate children in beliefs that educational authorities have determined are necessary." He added, there is the "right of parents to care for their children and make decisions for their well-being, including decisions about education, is primary, and the state's authority is secondary to that parental right." So, why not rule in favour of Tourloukis? That would have been the just ruling.

(Win or lose, we have a lot of respect and admiration for what Tourloukis has done. In the interest of full disclosure, we're the chair of The Parental Rights in Education Defense Fund. We worked to raise private funds to help pay for the court costs. The Ontario government, the school board and the teachers' union probably spent well over 500,000 dollars to fight Tourloukis, and by attacking him they attacked all parents in Canada. But they had unlimited taxpayer money to fight against parental rights. The average citizens doesn't. What a shame!)

Example 2: The Supreme Court of Canada (SCC) ruled in June of this year that Law Societies have the right to deny accreditation to Trinity Western University's (TWU) proposed law school. Trinity Western University is a private Christian evangelical institution that requires its students to agree to a covenant permitting sexual relationships just between a man and a woman and only after marriage. The high court decided that Law Societies in both Ontario and British Columbia have the right to make sure (discriminate) that there is equal access to diversity and stop any harm to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer students. However, that same equality of access and harm doesn't apply to Christian students.

Why did the SCC not ask for proof of harm as the judges did in the Tourloukis case? In this case, no evidence of harm was necessary. The mere covenant itself to remain chaste was in itself proof of harm to others. Why can't Canadian parents and students have the freedom to choose the education of their choice? Why not encourage more young men and women to study charity law? But the SCC wasn't interested. There is a double standard of justice here. A Christian father needs to legally provide proof of harm before the court agrees to his Charter of Rights of religious freedom and equality, but the same rule doesn't apply to those who claim to hold LGTBQ values. There is something terribly wrong in this. TWU has every right, in a democratic nation, to have a law school founded on Christian principles. The SCC made a horrible and biased decision.

Example 3: This comes from Alberta. We have a family with three children and two of them are autistic. One of the autistic children, a girl, who is twelve years old, joined the school's gay/straight alliance club. There she was soon convinced the she was a "boy" and not a girl. The school began the transitioning process with hormones, surgery, change of name and allowing the girl to use the boys' washroom.

Were the parents informed of what was happening to this very vulnerable child? Of course not. It wasn't until the daughter became depressed and suicidal that the parents were told. This child could have taken her life because the school did not tell the parents. After the parents went to court with the help of lawyer John Carpay from the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms, the situation got worse.

In court, Justice Johnna Kubik dismissed all the expert evidence presented that GSAs can too easily be used to promote an ideological progressive sexuality and gender fluidity. Why allow public schools to let just about anyone have access to GSA clubs without parental permission? Why is it acceptable to undermine the traditional view on sexuality, the person and marriage? We must remember that we're talking about children changing sex, in this case an autistic child, and attending elementary school. The child's brain has hardly formed the capacity to make such a serious choice. Instead, is this not a case of government child abuse?

The judge dismissed expert testimony because she has the legislative support of the Alberta government that believes GSAs are good for students. Kubik sided with Bill 24 which makes it illegal in Alberta to notify a parent if the child joins a GSA and/or decides to transition. The ruling is currently being challenged in the Alberta Court of Appeal. Kubik's biased decision needs to be overturned. But for now, parental rights can be violated in the name of gender fluidity and sexual expressions of every kind. It must not matter to Justice Kubik that children in the meantime can be harmed for life.

Example 4: This is a continuation for the last point. Too many anti-parental rights laws have been passed by governments. We have seen how Bill 24: An Act to Support Gay-Straight Alliances in Alberta can be used against parents. The legislation protects teachers and school administrators from telling parents that their children have joined a gay/straight alliance at school. In Ontario, we have Bill 89, Supporting Children, Youth and Families Act, 2017 that permits the school and/or government officials to remove children from their families if parents don't accept a child's decision to change sex. Don't let the nice-sounding name of the law fool you. The Ontario government knows best when it comes to changing a child's sex.

In addition, Bill 28, All Families Are Equal Act (Parentage and Related Registrations Statute Law Amendment), 2016 is actually anti-family because it permits the removal of the words "mother" and "father" on birth certificates. How can a mother and a father have rights when you can choose not to recognize that biological reality and be forced to accept another one merely based on feelings? And then there's Bill 77, Affirming Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Act, 2015 that legislates against any other therapy counter to changing sex is legally acceptable. Most provinces now have similar legislation. This provincial legislation is all backed by Canada's Bill C-16, a law passed in 2016. It's called An Act to amend the Canadian Human Rights Act and the Criminal Code. The law adds gender expression and gender identity as protected grounds of discrimination to the Canadian Human Rights Act and the Criminal Code. Canadians can be charged with a crime now should they question gender fluidity or with hate speech if they speak against it.

We conclude by quoting from Article 26 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Sections 2 and 3 state: "Education shall be directed to the full development of the human personality and to the strengthening of respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms. It shall promote understanding, tolerance and friendship among all nations, racial or religious groups, and shall further the activities of the United Nations for the maintenance of peace." And "Parents have a prior right to choose the kind of education that shall be given to their children." In Canada, both laws at the federal and provincial levels are breaking this declaration. It's parents who have the right to have the final say in what children learn and the groups they join, not the school or the government. By violating parental rights and not fully respecting parents, Canada's future is bleak. There is a huge price we pay as a society when we weaken parental rights and refuse to legislatively protect, not just alternative structures, but the traditional family too. The health and strength of the family is the health and strength of a nation. If we keep on this sick path, parental rights in Canada will become extinct. For some parents, it has already sadly happened.

The delusion that motivates the movement
toward gender fluidity acceptance

Sexual-orientation and gender-identity battle grips schools

*Update: The names and photos in this story have been changed
or removed at the father's request
This is an extremely difficult issue and we sincerely hope
we have not caused any suffering

When Brandon* sent his eldest child to Grade 9 in a community in BC's Lower Mainland (see map below), two years ago, he was afraid that Kevin* would be misunderstood and excluded: "This was always about just having our son attend school, where he was accepted for who he is, so he could have a normal school year, the same as everyone else."

Kevin is transgender. And after Brandon spoke with the principal, the school brought in a speaker for staff and students, helping educators foster a more inclusive environment for Kevin.

Today, parents such as Brandon and their kids have an easier time navigating the school system. Last fall, the government required every school district in British Columbia to include sexual orientation and gender identity in anti-bullying policies. Teachers are equipped with resources to support children, including LGBTQ students, and a redesigned curriculum means educators can focus on diversity and respecting differences.

As someone who has been writing blogs on child sex abuse for more than 5 years, I get frustrated with far-left liberal governments fixation on gender-fluidity and bullying while almost completely ignoring the massive problems of child sex abuse.

Yes, I empathize with gender dysphoric kids, and, no, no kid should ever be bullied for any reason. But liberal governments and school boards are treating the symptoms, not the problem. The problem is bullying! Bullying of any kind is intolerable and that should be the focus. Bullies will always find victims, if not transgenders, then someone else. We must deal with the bullies rather than trying to make everyone acceptable to those bullies.

The fixation on trans kids as opposed to sexually abused kids is particularly disturbing because, in the USA only 0.7% of the population is transgender. Meanwhile, about 10% of boys, and as many as 30% of girls are sexually abused as children. Why focus on the less than 1% and ignore more than 20% of the kids suffering? Why?

Yet, Brandon faces a new challenge. Late last month, Brandon, holding a sign that read "Love Wins," rallied, along with dozens of other parents, outside the district school board. They were squaring off against a conservative group of parents and activists who feel threatened by the very policies that are meant to protect Kevin.

Brandon has been trying to help support a program called SOGI 123, a set of resources for B.C. teachers to help them address issues around gender identity and help school districts support LGBTQ students.

JIMMY JEONG/THE GLOBE AND MAIL

BC's Lower Mainland has become a battleground between supporters of an inclusive school environment that directly names and addresses homo- and transphobia, and those who oppose introducing topics such as gender identity and sexual orientation to students. The small, but vocal group of counterprotesters label an LGBTQ-friendly curriculum and policies as a "sex activists agenda" that "abuses" children.

"Why would anyone be against such a thing that actually creates an environment that is safe and secure for students?" said Brandon. "How could anybody be against that?"

And there-in lies the question, the answer to which is the delusion referred to in the title above. Nobody is against that which makes for a safe and secure environment for children. Nobody. But SOGI123 actually creates an extremely dangerous environment for children. How's that? By teaching children that they are gender-fluid and not necessarily the sex that would appear obvious from their anatomy.

SOGI123 teaches them that it is healthy to question your sexuality and there is no harm in switching your sexual identity to that which is opposite to what your anatomy dictates. This is so wrong and so utterly insane that it is hard to refrain from using hyperbole.

More than 40% of transgenders attempt suicide! And, it is not because of bullying. In fact, you would be very hard-pressed to find a single case of a transgender who attempted suicide because of bullying. What you will find, if you look hard enough, is that they attempt suicide because of profound unhappiness with themselves. Much of it, I'm sure, coming from regret for the path they have chosen and their inability to face the possibility of going back.

Furthermore, reports coming from the UK indicate a frightening rise in attempted suicide among teenage and young adult women who have transitioned to men, more than 50%! The rise parallels a dramatic rise in the number young girls transitioning to men because of influence on social media. Girls who start talking about transitioning suddenly become very popular on social media, and that is a very powerful tool in affecting girl's decisions. After transitioning, they realize there is more to life than popularity and now they are stuck with trying to find a way to go back to who they are. Those who can't find a way, may opt for suicide.

There is one more point I need to make here. A recent alarming report, again, out of the UK, reveals that an unusual number of students, 17, in a single school are currently attempting to transition. The agency that actually assists with the transitioning sounded the alarm for 1 - the sheer number; and 2 - the fact that most of those students are somewhere on the autistic spectrum. In fact, a large number of transgenders are autistic.

What does that tell us? Are transgender kids targeting vulnerable kids to increase their numbers? Gender dysphoria is listed as a mental illness. Mental illnesses often tend to cluster in that many people have more than one mental illness. Does the vulnerability of autistic kids reinforce the fact that gender dysphoria is a mental illness?

The World Health Organization (WHO) currently lists transgender identity as a mental health disorder

Does the extremely high attempted suicide rate of transgenders reinforce the fact that gender dysphoria is a mental illness?

Should we, as a society, be encouraging the practice of mental illness as a norm? Shouldn't those kids be getting help instead of getting encouraged?

The issue began in summer of 2016, when the BC Human Rights Code was amended to include gender identity and gender expression as prohibited grounds of discrimination.

In response, the government last fall directed all school districts to include sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI) in their anti-bullying policies and codes of conduct. The Ministry of Education, along with the teachers' union, the Vancouver-based ARC Foundation and others, collaborated on SOGI 123, an initiative that shares resources on how to support students and create more inclusive schools.

Teachers in the classroom, under a revised curriculum currently being rolled out in schools, may explore the various components of the human rights code, including sexual orientation and gender identity. Lessons on family diversity, for example, may include mentions of same-sex families and LGBTQ rights.

That doesn't sit well with a conservative group called Culture Guard. Its spokeswoman, Kari Simpson, has described SOGI curriculum and policies as a "dangerous agenda."

On its website, the group said it works to protect the "natural family, parental rights, [and] the sanctity of life." It claimed that there is an agenda in schools to "undermine societal values and to sexualize your children."

Ms. Simpson's group has held so-called information meetings on SOGI, the most recent one earlier this month at a retirement home in Abbotsford.

"It is a political agenda that abuses children and violates the role and purpose of public education," Ms. Simpson said in an e-mail. "The consequences of this political indoctrination will be destructive to children, our culture and our nation."

Education Minister Rob Fleming said he was "disappointed" that some parents are opposed to SOGI-inclusive schools. "It is crucial that we help to ensure all students feel welcome in B.C.'s schools, regardless of who they identify as," he said in a statement.

Brandon's school district sent a letter home to parents in March outlining the curriculum changes and the district's stand on inclusion.

The letter stated that the district's schools would ensure gender-neutral washroom facilities exist for students, and that provincial curriculum expectations included the "integration of inclusive education, including gender orientation and expression beginning in kindergarten."

In kindergarten? Are you serious? Tell me again this is not indoctrination!

This prompted criticism from some parents at a June school board meeting, where they voiced their concerns to trustees around what they called a SOGI education and how it was being presented to students, board spokesman Ken Hoff said.

Mr. Hoff said an individual had applied to address trustees again at the most recent, Sept. 26, board meeting but withdrew the request a week before the meeting.

But as word leaked that an anti-SOGI activist was appearing, local parents organized a loosely-formed group to lobby for inclusivity. About 100 of them, including Brandon and his sons, Kevin and his younger brother, rallied outside the school board office in support of SOGI education and policies.

BC's Lower Mainland has become a battleground between supporters of an inclusive school environment and a small, but vocal group of counterprotesters who label an LGBTQ-friendly curriculum and policies as a “sex activists agenda” that “abuses” children.

The battle started in summer of 2016, when the BC Human Rights Code was amended to include gender identity and gender expression as prohibited grounds of discrimination.

"The fear-mongering and hate needs to stop," said Brandon of why he attended the rally.

And yet, while there may be very good reason for fear-mongering, or, at least concern, there is never a reason for hate.

This is not the first time in Canada that changes in education that involve sexuality or LGBTQ rights have been a flashpoint. In 2010, former Ontario premier Dalton McGuinty gave in to pressure from religious fundamentalists and cancelled an update to the health and physical education curriculum that would have included teaching on same-sex relationships and sexuality. The Ontario sex-ed curriculum was released two years ago, under current Premier Kathleen Wynne. The education minister at the time, Liz Sandals, vowed not to cave to pressure from fringe religious groups. Some parents pulled their children out of public schools, but many have since returned.

The reporter here neglects to mention that Ontario's sex-ed curriculum was, almost certainly, authored by a convicted pedophile, Ben Levin. While the Liberals deny it vehemently, it makes no sense that he would not have been deeply involved in its development as easily one of the most qualified and capable people in Canada, until his convictions.

Benjamin "Ben" Levin (born 1952) is a convicted child pornographer and registered Sex offender in Canada. He previously was the Canada Research Chair in Education Leadership and Policy at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE), University of Toronto. As a civil servant he served for three years in the Ontario provincial government as Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Education after having held a similar post in Manitoba. He was also a former advisor to then-premier Kathleen Wynne. On March 3, 2015, Levin pleaded guilty to three charges relating to making and distributing child pornography. He was sentenced to three years imprisonment. - Wikipedia

By the way, Kathleen Wynne is a lesbian. But, I'm sure there is no attempt to indoctrinate here.

The good news is her government collapsed spectacularly last spring. Alberta's far-left government is set to be replaced by a more conservative party next year, but British Columbia's extreme-left government, though tenuous at best, may hang around for years.

Life Was so Simple When There Were Only 2 Sexes - Now It Just Gets More and More Bizarre

Two-spirit father says First Nation's membership code requiring paternity testing is discriminatory

Only 1 of Wayne Wallace's twin sons has membership status

Lenard Monkman · CBC News

Wayne Wallace, a father of twins, says the band membership code for a New Brunswick First Nation is discriminatory because it only grants membership to his biological child. (Submitted)

A two-spirit father in New Brunswick says he and his children are being discriminated against because his First Nation requires paternity DNA testing for his children to become members.

The term 'two-spirit' was adopted by consensus in 1990 at an Indigenous lesbian and gay international gathering to encourage the replacement of the outdated, and now seen as inappropriate, anthropological term berdache. The term 'berdache' means, 'passive partner in sodomy, boy prostitute.' - Wikipedia.

Wayne Wallace is a status Indian and a band member of the Madawaska Maliseet First Nation in New Brunswick. He and his husband have four-year-old twins through a surrogate mother, but only one of the twins is allowed membership in the First Nation.

"The twins share the same mother, and we fertilized each of our share of the eggs and implanted into our surrogate, one embryo each, and they both took," said Wallace.

Both twins are status Indians under the Indian Act, but since only one of the twins is biologically his, that child is the only one considered a member of the Madawaska First Nation.

In 2014, the Maliseet community of Madawaska voted on a membership code that allows the band to decide who will become a member of the community.

Under the policy, the children of any mothers who are from the band are automatically members of the First Nation.

Fathers from the band who want to register their children as members must take DNA tests to prove they are biological parents.

"When the child is born, you apply to the community to become a member," said Wallace.

"And then if you're a male, they will ask to you to go to their preferred trusted source to undergo DNA testing. And if you refuse, then you're basically not allowed to register that child."

Brothers with different membership status

This policy is creating a division in his own family based on the technicality.

"You have a brother who's a member and a brother who is not a member. So if you were living in the community, one of them would be getting all the benefits of being a member of the community, one would get nothing," said Wallace.

Wallace said the policy creates uncertainties for people who are transgender, have fertility issues or want to adopt.

He argues the policy discriminates against his own family based on his sexual orientation. Wallace said if he were married to a woman, this would be a non-issue.

It would seem that if he had used a 1st Nations woman as a surrogate, there should be no issue, but it appears he didn't. To make matters worse, each son has a different father - an utterly unnatural occurrence that the band should not be expected to abandon their sensible membership requirements for.

Last year, he filed a complaint with the Canadian Human Rights Commission alleging discrimination on the basis of sex, family status, genetic makeup and sexual orientation.

According to Wallace, the human rights complaint is still in its early stages, and the first step is to go to mediation with the leadership of the community.

"They contacted the chief requesting if they would be willing to do that, and that request was denied with the explanation that it's not within [the chief's] power to change the code because it's voted on [by the community]."

Discrimination or act of self governance?

At last count, the Madawaska First Nation had a total of 557 members. The band recently won a land-claims case with the federal government and is negotiating compensation — a figure that could potentially reach $150 million.

That's over a quarter of a million dollars for each member if divided evenly. Making this case worth a lot of money for Mr Wallace.

According to Chief Patricia Bernard, the First Nation first enacted its own membership code in 1986.

The band wanted to make changes to the code to determine its own members and ensure that people who were not descendants did not become members.

Patricia Bernard, chief of Madawaska Maliseet First Nation in New Brunswick, says the First Nation enacted its own membership code in 1986. (Julia Wright / CBC)

"Our community has a lot of benefits and advantages and a couple of scenarios arose where — we're a small community so everybody knows pretty much everything — there was a situation where people were claiming that the child was theirs and it was pretty obvious that it wasn't.

"So in order to to eliminate that uncertainty we placed this criteria on on our members. The membership themselves asked for this to secure a sort of certainty with respect to the descendancy."

The band decided to amend the code after two years of community consultations and a referendum vote.

'You either are a descendant or you're not'

Bernard said she does not believe the membership code is a form of discrimination, but rather a protection of culture and identity.

"For me specifically if you want to talk about discrimination, it's a very difficult, complex concept especially when it comes to Aboriginal people and Aboriginal communities," said Bernard.

"There's a lot of deeper sort of issues surrounding that with respect to the membership. I wouldn't say it's discriminatory, it's you either are a descendant or you're not."

Wallace acknowledges that the chief and council do not have the power to change the policy on their own, but he hopes they can use their influence to lead the discussion and help resolve the issue of his sons becoming members.

"At the end of the day all I want is my child to be treated like any other members that are members within our community, because if you apply this code retroactively there'd be a lot of people that would lose their membership," said Wallace.

Theresa May Takes 'Conservative' Government Further to the Left

Ban ‘inhumane’ gay conversion therapy: Theresa May announces new LGBT+ plan

Prime Minister Theresa May has vowed to ban “cruel and inhumane” gay conversion therapy as part of its LGBT + action plan. Opposition MPs, however, say the plan is still not enough.

The Tory government has outlined 75 steps it will take as part of its plan to stamp out discrimination and inequality directed toward the LGBT+ community.

The plan comes after a government survey of 108,000 LGBT+ people sought to identify some of the biggest struggles facing the community. It found two percent of respondents underwent gay conversion therapy, while five percent were offered it, despite the NHS in 2014 warning it is “unethical and potentially harmful.”

Women’s and inequalities minister Penny Morduant said the practice – which can “range from pseudo-psychological treatments to, in the most extreme cases, surgical interventions and ‘corrective rape’,” must be eradicated.

Rape of any kind must be eradicated; that's a given. I am assuming 'surgical interventions' refer to reversing previous surgical interventions performed on transvestites. If not, I don't know what else it could be referring to. So it's odd that reversing a surgical procedure is deemed extreme evil, but the original procedure is not. I'm sure no trans person is going to agree to reversing surgery unless they are convinced it was wrong in the first place.

The assumption here by the confused minister is that a 'normal' person who looks at their male genitalia and decides they are a woman, is making the right decision. But a trans person who was born a man and looks down at his lack of male genitalia and decides that he was mistaken after all, is making a wrong decision. It is logical insanity at the very least, and it contravenes what is being taught in many schools in far-left leaning countries, that sexuality is fluid!

If May inflicts this law upon the people of the UK, she must accompany it with the commitment that gender fluidity not be taught in schools.

The survey – deemed to be the world’s largest study of its kind – also found two in three gay people avoid holding each other’s hands in public, while nearly a quarter found people in their workplace reacted negatively to their sexuality.

While saying the UK is a “world leader in advancing LGBT+ rights,” PM May described the responses as "overwhelming" and "shone a light on the many areas we can improve the lives of LGBT people."

"No-one should ever have to hide who they are or who they love," she said.

She continued: “I was struck by just how many respondents said they cannot be open about their sexual orientation or avoid holding hands with their partner in public for fear of a negative reaction. No-one should ever have to hide who they are or who they love.”

Labour’s shadow equalities minister, Dawn Butler, welcomed the government’s attention to LGBT+ issues, but said its plans still lack concrete reform.

She continued: “Cruel and inhumane conversion therapies have been allowed to spread fear and hatred in our society for far too long. Unfortunately, this report does not commit to legislative change. We call on the government to bring forward legislation which proposes nothing short of a full ban.

“With one in five LGBT+ people experiencing a hate crime in the last year, we are disappointed that the government has not met Labour’s call to make these crimes an aggravated offence, the same as hate crimes based on race and faith,” she said, the Independent reports.

“It’s exasperating to see the government re-announce an announcement they made a year ago about consulting on the Gender Recognition Act. Labour is calling for the Act to be updated to ensure greater protections for trans people, and we urge Theresa May to finally work with us to make it law.”

One of my concerns is that it will soon be illegal to counsel a person who has become disenchanted with their lifestyle and wants to change it. Whether surgical or spiritual or psychological, making it a crime to help such people ought to be a crime in itself. It is certainly morally abysmal.

40 schools in England ban girls from wearing skirts to accommodate transgender students

Some 40 secondary schools in England have banned girls from wearing skirts, one month after a school in Oxfordshire recommended it's male students wear them to deal with soaring temperatures.

According to the Sunday Times, schools are opting for gender-neutral uniforms to encompass transgender students, with others consulting on a ban.

Priory School, a secondary in Lewes, East Sussex enforced a ban on skirts and ordered girls to wear trousers instead in an effort to accommodate transgender pupils, after students had asked why girls and boys had to wear different clothes.

Headteacher Tony Smith said in September, “We have a small but increasing number of transgender students and therefore having the same uniform is important for them.”

But feminists have complained that a complete ban on skirts in favour of gender-neutral uniform is not the answer to the growing number of transgender pupils, arguing that children should be offered a choice.

Renowned feminist, the American author and former Bill Clinton adviser, Naomi Wolf stated that: “I think that trousers-only for everyone is a silly way to go — unless you are going to also offer the option of skirts-only for everyone. I believe that if everyone is offered the option of both skirts and trousers, everyone can find his, her or their comfortable fit.”

Of course! But then there is no place for logic or common sense in a world of political correctness.

Copleston High School, in Ipswich, has put skirts on a list of inadmissible items alongside “skinny jeans and facial piercings”. In Ipswich, a total of eight secondary schools prohibit skirts, which means the majority of female pupils in the town attend ‘trouser-only’ schools.

Skirts at Woodhey High School, in Bury, were classed as “undignified and embarrassing” for staff and visitors when girls sit on the floor for assembly and in drama classes.

There has been a backlash from some schools, who are fighting to save the skirt. Students at Philips High School, Bury, have assembled hundreds of signatories to their petition in reaction to plans to make wearing trousers compulsory for boys and girls next year.

They argue that a ban on skirts is “sexualising” pupils’ bodies. Female students at the school also claim that they feel more confident in skirts and forcing them to wear trousers could “damage our mental health.” The petition states: “If any teacher believes seeing a child’s leg is in any way ‘too sexual’,” then “they should be sacked immediately for gross misconduct.”

I like those kids. Go girls!

Diane Burdaky, parent of a pupil at Philips High School told RT that there had been no consultation process and that the children did “not want to wear trousers all the time.”

She said: "I was very shocked. There was no consultation with any parents or students. There was no explanation for the ban. No reasons given whatsoever. I know the children at school do not want to wear trousers all the time."

The latest school skirt furore, follows an Oxfordshire school telling its male students that they can join their female peers by donning the school skirt if they find trousers too hot and uncomfortable.

Well, after all, they do it in Scotland all the time. Even the Princes wear kilts from time to time. Mind you, you wouldn't catch me in one.

The advice issued by Chiltern Edge Secondary School came after the school introduced a ‘more formal’ uniform policy at the beginning of the school year, which stipulated that students’ legwear may only be either trousers or skirts.

The growing popularity of adopting gender-neutral uniform policies have grown among UK schools since the introduction of the Equality Act in 2010. Under its provisions, the law leaves schools with a duty to protect transgender students from discrimination.

All students need to be protected from discrimination, but not by discriminating against 99% of the girls. That's just stupid! Let them wear either!

Gender-Neutral Passports Rejected as Court Rules Specifying Sex is Not Discrimination

Unexpected anti-politically correct ruling in UK

© Britta Pedersen/ Global Look Press

The UK High Court has rejected a bid to introduce gender-neutral passports. The litigant had suggested that asking passport holders to specify their gender is “inherently discriminatory.”

Christie Elan-Cane, who has been campaigning with the backing of Human Rights Watch for so-called “gender-X” passports since 1995, said: “I am bitterly disappointed that my case for the judicial review of the UK government’s discriminatory passport policy was not upheld – not just for myself but for everyone who is compromised by this policy.

“I was not seeking special treatment. I was seeking to be treated as a human being,” she said, the BBC reports.

Justice Baker rejected claims that the current policy, which requires putting ‘male’ or ‘female’ on passports, is in breach of the European Convention of Human Rights (ECHR).

“At present I am not satisfied, for the reasons which I have set out, that the current policy of HM Passport Office is unlawful,” the judge said.

Elan-Cane’s lawyer argued in the High Court last April that the policy breached two fundamental rights: the respect for a private life and the right to not be discriminated against on the basis of gender and sex.

LGBT charity Stonewall also expressed disappointment at the High Court’s dismissal, saying: “Many trans people are afraid to travel abroad for fear of intrusive questioning or difficulties at passport control.

“Non-binary people are also not recognized under law, and it's unclear whether they are protected by anti-discrimination legislation,” said Laura Russell, Stonewall's head of policy, the BBC reports.

French TV Show Calls Transgender Man ‘Mom,’ Divides Social Media

The New Normal - Gender Dysphoria

The French Twittersphere is abuzz over a TV show that invited on a couple of transgender men and their child, calling the one who gave birth “a mother.” Some have slammed the show as intolerant.

The now hotly-discussed show called ‘Hello, earthlings!’ was aired on Saturday. It featured an American transgender couple, Biff Chaplow and Trystan Reese, who were both born women. The latter chose to keep his uterus to bear their child, who was also present on the show.

During the show a banner reading “Mom is on the left” appeared on the screen, referring to the 34-year-old, causing an uproar on social media and splitting it into two camps.

The first half believed that calling a transgender man “a mother” could be offensive for those who wish to change, or have changed, their gender. They immediately accused the TV show of intolerance. “What the hell is it? Mom? It’s a joke?!” one angry person tweeted.

Another person said he thought that the biological mother was somewhere on the left. But when he realized that the banner pointed to Reese, he was furious.

Others believe the controversy is a bit exaggerated. After all, Reese decided to keep his female reproductive organs, the ‘pro-Maman’ front argued.

“The guy on the left of the screen was a woman and gave birth to a child, so yes technically he is the child’s ‘Mom’, even if she changed sex,” one person said.

“He carried a child,”“But it is not a man! It’s a woman who took hormones to get hair!” were among the other arguments.

Meanwhile, Chaplow and Reese hope that the TV show will apologize for the inappropriate ‘Maman’ banner. “We know they will issue an apology for calling me a “mother,” and hope they will remember that many, many other men have given birth before I did,” Reese wrote with a kissing face emoji.

However, the TV show has so far remained silent on Twitter.

Oh, God! How long?

Labour’s 'TERF' War: Mass Walkout Threats over Transgender Acceptance

A radical feminist group in Labour is threatening to leave, after the party announced it would be backing trans people standing on women-only shortlists. The policy looks set to ignite larger divisions over gender recognition.

The UK Labour Party has been papering over an internal rupture over whether or not transgender people can stand for selection. There are no candidates at present, but a group of radical feminists – so-called Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminists (TERFs) – want the policy scrapped before it happens.

The group’s demands received a blow today. The equality subcommittee of Labour’s ruling National Executive Committee is planning to officially back a statement to rebuffed their demands.

The NEC is going further, reports say, and is likely to insist the party stamps out “transphobia and the abuse of members based on their trans identity will not be tolerated in the Labour Party.” A copy of the statement, leaked ahead of the meeting to HuffPost, said “the Labour Party continues to have an inclusive definition of women,” and explicitly affirms that “All Women Shortlists and women’s reserved places are open to self-defining women.”

Labour has been locked in a brutal battle between TERFs and trans members. One young trans activist was repeatedly abused online by people from within the party when she took a role within her local constituency in Kent.

Lily Madigan was the first ever elected women’s officer, after her lesbian predecessor was ousted for anti-trans comments. Madigan was subjected to online hate, including ridicule and claims she was not fit for the role.

The decision by the NEC’s committee has provoked anger among some sections of the party. The news has led to threats of mass resignations from anti-transgender campaigners.

In a public post on Mumsnet, activist Jennifer James wrote: “The secret squirrel beardy bro Momentum careerists [have] been showing true colours. Bros don’t care about trans rights… they just want to use trans ppl as a human shield for sexism and abuse cos we won’t do as they say.”

A formal statement on behalf of her crowdfunding campaign later added: “Our solicitors have, today, sent our pre-action protocol and submissions letter to the Labour Party in respect of the definition of ‘woman’ for protected positions and all-women shortlists.

“Our solicitors are Bhogal Partners, and through them we have instructed Amanda Jones of Counsel, who is a tenant at Great James Street Chambers in London. The letter was drafted by Miss Jones after consultation with the solicitors and on instructions. We hope that the Labour Party will take our letter and concerns seriously, and consider the points raised in it carefully.”

James is currently suspended from the Labour Party over allegations of transphobic and abusive conduct. Group ‘Mayday4Women’ is planning a mass resignation of Labour members from the party to protest the decision, timed for International Women’s Day on Thursday.

It said: “WOMEN! Stop resigning individually from @labour – we keep receiving copies of resignation emails from women leaving over Self-ID. Rather than do it individually let’s coordinate together and make it something mass that can get press coverage. Get in touch if you’re up for it.”

The statement on transgender acceptance will now head to the full NEC for approval.

It's not bad enough that women get constantly abused and pushed aside by men, now they are getting pushed out by men who dress up like women. What an insane world we live in.

Danish Woman Deported to Tunisia for Refusing to Remove Niqab at Belgian Airport

This is a shocking story. Shocking in that it is a completely
uncharacteristically sensible decision by an EU country.
Whoa! Who saw that coming?

A Danish Muslim woman has been deported to Tunisia for refusing to remove her religious veil while going through security at Brussels Airport, Belgium’s State Secretary for Asylum and Migration has said.

The woman landed at Brussels Zaventem Airport on Wednesday on a flight from Tunis, Tunisia.

In a post on Facebook, immigration minister Theo Francken said that the woman had refused to show her face in Tunis and again refused to do so in Belgium.

“After she refused to make her face visible in Tunis, she refused to do so in Zaventem. Our border police then refused her access to the Schengen area. Without identity checks, no access to our territory,” he said.

The woman was deported to Tunisia on Friday.

Belgium banned the full face veil in 2011. Women wearing the veils can face fines and up to seven days in jail for repeat offences.

The law was challenged at the the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) in 2013, but in July of this year, the court upheld the ban, ruling that it doesn’t violate European human rights law.

Francken is a member of Belgium's largest party, the New Flemish Alliance, a conservative party which campaigns for the peaceful secession of Flanders from Belgium.

The immigration minister made headlines in November last year when he refused to furnish a visa for a family of refugees from Syria after a court ruling which granted them a humanitarian visa.

The European Court of Justice upheld Francken’s decision in March.

Justice Ministry to Appeal ECHR Ruling on Russian ‘Gay Propaganda Law’

The Russian Justice Ministry has announced plans to appeal a ruling that found Russia’s ban on the promotion of non-traditional sexual relations to minors discriminatory and awarded damages to several activists previously convicted under the act.

According to the statement published on the ministry’s website on Tuesday, the ban does not contradict international practices and the sole purpose of the law was to protect children’s morals and health.

The statement was released soon after the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg ruled that the law, often described in the mass media as a ‘gay propaganda ban’, was discriminatory and encouraged homophobia. The court took the side of three Russian activists who were convicted in Russia for violating the ban between 2009 and 2012, and ordered the Russian state to pay compensation for damages.

One of the main sponsors of the original Russian bill, State Duma MP Vitaly Milonov (United Russia) called the ECHR ruling a “propaganda stunt” and a “bludgeon” used by neo-liberals to destroy their opponents.

“This court became an information propaganda dump quite some time ago and everyone should stop calling it a court. Because a court is something independent and important,” Milonov told RT.

“The ECHR [European Court of Human Rights] is nothing more than a branch of the propaganda machine servicing the European neoliberal circles. It has already stopped protecting the human rights and liberties, now they use it as a bludgeon for making threats,” he added.

The lawmaker also said that the ruling can be easily ignored in Russia.

The head of the Upper House committee for constitutional law, Senator Andrey Klishas, said on Tuesday that in his view, the Justice Ministry should have sent an enquiry to the Constitutional Court to check whether the potential execution of the ECHR ruling is in line with the Russian Constitution.

According to the senator’s press service, he believes that following the ECHR orders could violate the constitution, which states that the exercising of one’s rights must not infringe upon the rights and freedoms of others, as well as banning public promotion of social, racial, ethnic, or religious hatred.

“The current legislation matches public morals as they are traditionally understood in Russian society. As any legislative solution to a public request lies within the powers of the national legislative bodies, the senator’s opinion is that European entities should abstain from interfering in the internal affairs of our state,” the press service’s statement reads, as quoted by Interfax.

In 2013, Russia introduced the law banning any promotion of non-traditional sexual relations to persons under 18. Before being approved nationwide, the law had been passed at a municipal level in the city of St. Petersburg.

The law ordered fines for breaches of the ban, including in the media, on the internet and via viral advertisements. Holding LGBT rallies was also prohibited as well as distribution of information aimed at forming non-traditional sexual concepts in children, describing such relations as attractive, promoting a distorted understanding of a social equality between traditional and non-traditional relations, and also unwanted solicitation of information that could provoke interest in such relations.

In late 2015, two Communist Party lawmakers proposed an additional ban on any public demonstration of “non-traditional” sexual orientation, however this bill has not been passed by the parliament.
