Ozzone 12-31 > God reminds us of the past so that we won’t put our trust in the shallow security of the present

In the KJV, the word rereward is not explained, but should be translated as the two-syllable word "rere-ward" which means "rear-guard" in old French. It's a military term, not a physiological term, thank goodness. But it does mean that God has taken care of that which is behind us, so we need not brood over it but consider ourselves thoroughly blessed to have God in our past, present, and future.
