Germany thwarts planned attack on

A suspected supporter of Islamic State who intended to carry out an attack with firearms on the Israeli embassy in Berlin has been arrested, the Public Prosecutor General of Germany announced on Sunday.
The suspect, a Libyan citizen who was only identified as “Omar A” in official statements and media, was accused by Germany of supporting the terrorist ideology of ISIS, and in order to plan and carry out the attack, he exchanged information with a member of ISIS in a Messenger chat online.
The man was detained on Saturday in Bernau, a locality outside of Berlin, Euronews reported.
The prosecutor general said he will be brought before the investigating judge of the Federal Court of Justice on Monday. The judge will disclose the arrest warrant to him and decide on his pre-trial detention.
German tabloid Bild wrote that the suspect allegedly wanted to flee first to his uncle’s apartment in the area and then flee the country after completing the attack.
The uncle is being treated not as a suspect but as a witness, and it is unclear whether he knew about his nephew’s attack, Bild said….

A top Dutch jurist on Sunday criticized prosecutors for saying Deputy Prime Minister Mona Keijzer was guilty of hate speech when she noted publicly that many Muslim immigrants are antisemitic.
Afshin Ellian, a Tehran-born professor of law at Leiden University, in an op-ed in EW magazine on Sunday called the Netherlands Public Prosecution Service’s finding earlier this year, laid out in a legal document, “insulting and irrational.”
The prosecutors said that Keijzer, who is also the minister of housing and spatial planning, was guilty of “incitement to intolerance” that “contradicts the foundations of democracy.”
Ellian was probably trying to protect the madness that Muslims are perpetual victims rather than aggressors. They are perpetual victims, but victims of their own madness and hate.
Despite their assertion that she had broken the law, the prosecutors decided not to indict Keijzer, a lawmaker from the right-wing Farmer–Citizen Movement (BBB).
The allegation followed a complaint to police against Keijzer in July over her statement in a talk show that “what you see is that many asylum seekers come from countries with Muslim faith. We know that Jew-hatred there is a part, almost, of the culture.”
She said this in defense of her policy of making Holocaust studies an obligatory part of the naturalization process of new citizens.
Another panelist, Arnon Grunberg, a left-leaning Jewish writer, called this policy an attempt to “use the genocide of the Jews to punish newcomers,” prompting Keijzer to address Muslim antisemitism to justify her policy….
If teaching the truth is punishment, then so be it, it cannot be avoided.

A 23-year-old woman, previously unknown to the justice system, was sentenced on Wednesday, October 16, to ten months in prison with continued detention by the criminal court of Nantes (Loire-Atlantique) for having struck her father with a knife in Rezé (Loire-Atlantique). Angelina accused her (him?) of preventing her from “wearing the veil” even though she is now “Muslim.”
This young French woman is also convinced that she has been “banished” from her family because she “hangs out with people of other ethnicities and other colors.” Holder of a CAP in Personal Assistance and now self-employed in the “making of artisanal candles,” she now lives “on the street.” She even “slept at the mosque,” the young blonde woman in the dock certifies….

Koran with bacon out of court before Paludan trial

DOMESTIC. On Monday morning, just before the trial began against Koran-burner Rasmus Paludan, a Koran with bacon was found outside the Malmö district court. This is reported by TV4 Nyheterna.
The police were called to the scene at 07:30 and took the object into custody, and the case is now being investigated as incitement against a group of people, according to police spokesperson Evelina Olsson.
The incident occurred on the same day that Paludan is on trial for two counts of incitement against a ethnic group and one count of insult.
Paludan, who is participating in the trial via video link, has not been in Sweden since 2023 due to a perceived threat.
The trial, which is followed by a large media gathering, is scheduled to last two days.

An Afghan national was arrested by the FBI in the United States last week for plotting an Election Day terrorist attack on large crowds in support of the Islamic State. His younger brother has now reportedly been apprehended in France for similar allegations.
On Saturday, French authorities indicted a 22-year-old man, the brother of 27-year-old Nasir Ahmad Tawhedi, on charges of forming a “plan for violent action at a soccer match or shopping center as reported by the Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office in Paris…French terrorism investigators were tipped off by American authorities investigating Tawhedi’s case over messages exchanged between the pair on Telegram.
Tawhedi was apprehended in Oklahoma City after the Justice Department foiled his elaborate plans to buy AK-47s and shoot up large crowd in the name of ISIS. He had planned this along with another junior co-conspirator, both hoping to become Islamic “martyrs.”…
Tawhedi was previously employed in a security role in Afghanistan by the CIA, CBS News reports. He was given a special visa by the Biden-Harris administration to enter the US after the disastrous American withdrawal from Afghanistan.
