The spectacular failure of Israeli intelligence in foreseeing this invasion is perhaps the most surprising element of this atrocity. But there is also the question of how the invasion took place through Israeli security, and how did Hamas get the thousands of missiles that they are still pummeling Israel with?

The answer to these questions may influence Netanyahu's response in the coming days and weeks. They may lead to an escalation of the war to Hamas suppliers and supporters. Israel's revenge could lead to those suppliers and supporters getting directly involved. Israel has to do what is necessary to ensure that Hamas cannot repeat this scenario in the future.

The Great Tribulation

As I have written several times before, I suspect that Jesus returns at the end of the Great Tribulation period which I suggested would be about 2030 - 2000 years after His death and resurrection. Some say that 2033 is 2000 years since then. If my guess is right then the Great Tribulation would have to start this year, 2023. The massive invasion of Israel might very well be the first significant sign of the Great Tribulation beginning, after which one appears who will bring peace out of the chaos, the Beast. 

While today's invasion is the worst in 50 years, it is not the apocalyptic invasion of Ezekiel 38,39. Yet, the potential for escalation is glaringly obvious.
