Ozzone 8-10 > No normal, healthy saint ever chooses suffering; he simply chooses God’s will, just as Jesus did, whether it means suffering or not. Is that you?

No saint dare to interfere with the discipline of suffering in another saint! Yet we do it all the time, praying for every conceivable suffering of a brother or sister, instead of praying for the discipline to have its purposed effect.

Notice God’s unutterable waste of saints! We think saints should be witnessing to the world for all they’re worth. And then we read about the likes of Watchman Nee. In the 1930’s and 1940’s, Nee travelled from China to Europe and America and was one of the most popular Christian writers and speakers of his era. And then, in 1950, he was locked up in a Maoist work camp, the likes of which made Russia’s Gulag seem appealing, where he languished for the last 20 years of his life. Like a modern-day Job, he must have questioned God’s providence. It’s not likely that he was put there to witness to a few other inmates, or to the guards, as opposed to the millions he had reached before. Was he there to witness to “so great a cloud of witnesses” (Hebrews 12:1-2) as the angels of God and the souls in Heaven?
