Christian man shot dead in ‘targeted’ attack

PESHAWAR – Unknown motorcyclists killed a member of the Christian community in Sufaid Dheri area, police said on Saturday. Kashif Maseeh was an employee in town-III and was on the way to his home when unknown assailants opened fire and killed him on the spot. Sufaid Dheri police station registered the case and further investigation is underway.
Police officials say Saturday’s deadly attack was the second incident of target killing of minorities in the last 24 hours. Kashif Maseeh was gunned down by armed motorcyclists on his doorstep. A day earlier, a Sikh shopkeeper was gunned down in Peshawar in a similar manner. There have been no responsibility claims for the attacks.
Meanwhile, Special Assistant to Chief Minister (SACM) Malik Mehr Elahi on Saturday expressed grief and sorrow over the killing of a Sikh, Dayal Singh and marked the incident as a poor-spirited act of miscreants to derail interfaith harmony. In a statement, Malik directed authorities concerned to arrest the killers of Dayal Singh and urged them to ensure the protection of minority communities in the province….

Islamabad: In yet another incident of targeted killing, a Sikh shopkeeper Dayal Singh was killed by motorcycle-borne miscreants on Friday in the Dir colony of Pakistan’s Peshawar.
Peshawar Police reportedly said that Singh was sitting at his shop when unidentified motorcyclists killed him and fled from the spot.
Earlier on Thursday, a Karachi-based eye surgeon named Dr Birbal Genani was shot dead by unidentified gunmen near Layari in Karachi while returning home from his clinic.
Birbal Genani was the former Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) senior director of health in the Pakistan port city. Unidentified armed men targeted his car while he was travelling from Ramswamy, along with his assistant doctor, to Gulshan-e-Iqbal….

Three passengers were killed and nine others, including three women, sustained severe burns and are undergoing treatment after a miscreant poured flammable liquid on the passengers in coach D1 of the Alappuzha-Kannur Executive Express. The incident occurred around 9:45 PM on Sunday, April 2, 2023. The accused has been identified as Shahrukh Saifi, reportedly a Noida, Uttar Pradesh resident who was working as a carpenter in Bulandshahr.
