He had shouted ‘Allah Akbar as he rushed at the gendarmes

This Monday at the Grenoble courthouse, Aymen Ben Hassine was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment, one of which was suspended and was placed under a warrant of committal.

When Aymen Ben Hassine was stopped by the gendarmes last October 4 in the region of Voiron because he had just stolen a baguette from a bakery, the case would probably have ended there if it had not been necessary for the military to check his right to stay in France. Because this young 26-year-old Tunisian, who arrived in France about a year ago, did not have a certification proving that he was on national territory legally.

While he was in detention, the checks even showed the opposite, and the prefecture immediately took an Obligation to leave French territory (OQTF) measure against him. In the premises of the gendarmerie of Voiron where he was detained, the soldiers notified him of the OQTF and explained to him that he was going…

“He hits a gendarme with a tap (faucet) and bites another member of the brigade,” translated from “Il frappe un gendarme avec un robinet et en mord un autre au sein de la brigade,” Le Dauphiné, October 5, 2022

A Tunisian in an irregular situation and placed in administrative detention at the gendarmerie brigade injured a soldier with a tap he had just torn from the wall and bit a second one on Tuesday.

A 25-year-old Tunisian national, arrested for theft, turned out to be in an irregular situation and was therefore subject to an administrative detention measure at the Voiron gendarmerie brigade.

This is where this Tuesday, October 4 around noon, after asking to go to the bathroom.

Sorry for the quality of the translation.

A police officer has been stabbed to death in a suspected terror attack near a train station in Brussels, officials say.

Belgium's federal prosecutor's office said two officers were targeted in the incident near Brussels North station.

A judicial official told the Associated Press there was "a suspicion of a terror attack".

The attacker was shot after the stabbing and taken to hospital, police said.

Explaining what happened, the force said one of its officers was attacked by the man before reinforcements were called.

An officer from another patrol then used his firearm to "neutralise" the attacker, it added.

According to Belgian media, the man shouted "Allahu akbar", the Arabic phrase for "God is great".

Le Soir newspaper said the dead police officer was stabbed in the neck and died in hospital.

"I get off my car and see that a man is laying on the ground, he was half dead, but I could still see him moving a bit. I tried to come closer, but the police told me to go away," he said.

"It was a really frightening scene, I was really scared when I saw all this blood and that man on ground."

Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo posted a message of condolence to the family and friends of the dead officer.

"Our police officers risk their lives every day to ensure the safety of our citizens," he said. "Today's tragedy demonstrates this once again."

The attack took place at around 7.15pm local time.

At Least 21 Christians Killed by Islamists in Northern Mozambique

Barnabas Fund,
November 9, 2022

At least 21 Christians have been killed by Islamist extremists in violent attacks throughout October in northern Mozambique.

Jihadists set fire to a church building and several houses in the Chiure district of Cabo Delgado Province on October 26, killing one person.

The Islamists also announced the killing of 20 Christians and the displacement of hundreds more in Cabo Delgado between October 3 and 20.

The attacks were carried out by an Islamic State (IS)-affiliated organisation Ahlu Sunnah Wa-Jama, known locally as Al Shabaab (not the Somali-based group of the same name). They were announced in al-Naba, the weekly magazine of IS.

In addition to church building in Chiure, the Islamists said that other church property in Cabo Delgado had been destroyed, though no details were given.

A Muslim leader and his wife were also beheaded by the jihadi group, who since 2017 have subjected both the Christian and Muslim communities of northern Mozambique to a campaign of terror.

At least eight believers were killed in Islamist violence across Cabo Delgado and neighbouring Nampula Province in September 2022.

It seems like they don't care who they are killing, as long as they are killing someone.
