A North Carolina man killed his neighbor and stole money to purchase an assault rifle with which to carry out a terrorist attack, according to a federal indictment read on Monday and reported by ABCNews.

Justin Nojan Sullivan, 19, is also accused of attempting to pay an undercover FBI operative to kill his parents. Sullivan allegedly believed his parents would oppose his plans for an attack.

He “planned to carry out his attack in the following few days at a concert, bar or club where he believed that as many as 1,000 people could be killed using the assault rifle and silencer,” according to the indictment.

He allegedly committed the murder of his neighbor, John Baily Clark, in December 2014, using a .22 rifle stolen from his father’s gun cabinet. He claimed he stole $689 from Clark and began planning an attack with the undercover FBI operative over social media.

He is charged with murder, attempting to provide material support to a terrorist organization and trying to arrange for the murder of his parents.

He was remanded in custody and will stand trial later this month.
